What is a good sound to record for a punch sound effect?

I'm trying to find a sound to record for use as a punch sound effect in a home movie. I know the professionals slap raw meat against a counter for their sounds, but I need to find something different.

Thanks.|||actually, what you could do is a little sound design. Take the meat idea and build upon that sound, record the meat thing (add your own flair to it though), then take that recording and layer other sounds on top of it, perhaps record breaking a largish stick or branch, anything like that, but you are going to need a program to do your layering in, if you dont have any type of DAW , you might want to look up "audacity" on yahoo, free download, multitrack recorder and editor, it would do the trick. Just get creative, add sounds if they work keep them, if not scrap em, play with the volume levels, you will more than likely want the meaty packing sound to be the backbone of the sound though, good luck.
