I remember watching a documentary that shows that savate punches just as hard as boxers and that savateurs punch harder than most martial artists. Is this true?WHy do they punch harder than most martial artists?|||Some people punch harder than others. Style has nothing to do with it. I know of no "undeniable proof" of any style having stronger punches than another. That kind of comment is just someones opinion that keeps getting passed around,...... Just like your posting it has done.
...|||I doubt it's true. The way most of these documentaries test things is very unscientific. I can't remember the styles involved, but one program said that an "MMA kick" (there's no such thing) was harder than a Muay Thai kick. Well, the MMA guy they had kicking was over 200lbs, while the Muay Thai guy was about 160-170lbs. Obviously, the bigger guy is going to hit harder.
There's no scientific way that studying a system that essentially uses the same punches found in all martial arts somehow produces someone who hits harder than everyone else.|||No, it isn't.
They can probably punch as hard as any other kickboxers (since it's a kickboxing art).
The documentary you saw was obviously wrong.
Nobody punches harder than boxers, it's all they do, punch.|||im pretty sure that jean claude van damme has a savate backround and we all know that he is the baddest mofo on the planet, so yes, it must be true|||i agree with pugapaws 100000000000%
