With things that I would have in my house! And that it would look like a hole punch hole- not just something that would ruin the book|||A drill press. You have to clamp the book closed very tightly, and place it on top of a sacrificial piece of wood (or similar) to have a clean hole all the way through.
You didn't tell us what's in your house, but I have one in mine. Maybe a friend has one?|||I once tried a hand drill but it didnt look like a punch hole though.|||Call your public library and see if they have one you can borrow for a minute or two.|||If half the book will go into the punch, then punch that half.
Then punch the other half, WITH a couple of pages, carefully lined up,
from the pre-punched half.
Hope this works for you :-)|||clamp scrap ply either side of the book as tight as you can, use a NEW bit of the correct size, if you haven't got a drill press line the drill up with a friend holding a square and all should be fine.|||Trying to drill the holes stands a good chance of ruining the paper. Drill bits aren't really designed to deal with sheets of paper.
The best way is to check with any local book binder or office supply companies or printing companies. One of them should have the special hollow drill punches needed to do the job properly.
