How do you test your punch power? How do you get more powerful?

I punch hundreds of times in a row with the same hand, either air or bag, or wood, and it seems to be working.

Any other tips?|||I do martial arts. Punching isn't completely about using the weight of your arm. Use your hips and make the punch as fast as possible. That will create a more painful result for your opponent. Apparently you are meant to tense your muscles just before the punch hits. But for me honestly, I keep my arm tensed half way through the hit. Also breath out each strike for more power. You can try using the rest of your body to drive in with the punch. Obviously lifting weights would help with a bit of power and remember its not just arms you use. For a regular punch your pecs, and the whole arm is gonna have to work. To sum it all up, if you want to be more effective in fights work on accuracy aswell. Btw punch with your elbow pointing to the ground as much as possible.|||Lift weights and get stronger chest and arm muscles. To see if you are getting a more powerful punch:

Get some one to hold the heavy bag, they can feel the force. Test a month later and ask if there was a difference.
