How do I punch in my passcode in my iTouch since it doesn't show the numbers I punch in the boxes?

My iTouch has a passocde. But when I try to punch it in my Touch doesn't even feel it. For instance, like the four white spaces for your passcode, the numbers don't even show up in there, when I punch them in. Help please?|||restore it.
