Do you just twist your hips and step in?
Also I've been using a Punch bag without gloves and have like a blood stain on my knuckle that wont wash off, is it alright to punch it without gloves?|||I've learned to power punch a couple different ways, but each technique involved planting the back leg a millisecond before driving with the hips. The arms and shoulders should really only guide your punch and give the last ounces of power. Try hitting the bag by using no arm movement like an action figure that swivels at the waist. This helped me to learn to use my core to drive the punch. If your knuckles don't look like a saddle, don't punch without gloves as it will damage your hands in the beginning. The callouses will build overtime, just give it time.|||yeah, you need to learn proper technique though.
seriously though dont punch a punch bag without gloves, i done it before and completely ****** my hand, it can cause serious injury to the tendons in your hands man get some gloves.|||Technique technique technique. Stepping into the punch helps but the main thing is learning to punch with your legs and hips. Don't "wing" the punch from your shoulder-it'll tire out your shoulders and won't be near as powerful. Think torso rotation, like swinging a baseball bat.
Do yourself a favor, go out buy some handwraps, learn to wrap your hands properly http://www.boxinggyms.com/tips/handwraps鈥?/a> and wear boxing gloves over top them. Hitting a punching bag without wraps %26amp; gloves gives you blisters, bloody knuckles, cracked or broken bones and sprained thumbs and wrists. You need support and protection. Take care of your hands, especially since after a while you will FEEL that you are hitting harder and you will be. Once you learn to put even more power into your punches, you're risking damaging your hands that much more without gloves.
