How do you make a holiday punch from stout?

Many years ago, my neighbor made a punch during the holidays that tasted really great. I think she mixed together Guiness stout, wine and champaigne. If you have heard of a similar recipe or have made a good punch of your own, please let me know. Thanks|||I know Black Velvets are half stout and topped with half champagne.
