I have a bottle of champagne and want to make some kind of punch with it, but I don't have the things a lot of recipes call for, like frozen strawberries or orange sherbet. I have some juices--orange, lemon, cranberry, pineapple and lemonade. Plus I have some kids' drinks like hawaiian punch. Any recipes?|||With ingredients like that you could make just about anything. Make sure that when you mix your champagne with fruit juices that you have a sour citrus undertone to help ease the sweetness of the champagne.
If it were up to me I would freeze the cranberry juice into ice cubes to float in (you could even put a few maraschino cherries in some of them to look fancy). Then, depending on the size of your champagne bottle I would go with a base of Orange juice (start with 2 cups), pineapple (one cup) and hawiian punch (half a cup). Make sure you don't add the champagne too far ahead or you won't be able to maintain carbonation in the drink.
From the quantities listed above, you can add extra of whichever juice you prefer- make sure you have a little taste of the champagne before you're done mixing the juice (pour a little champagne into a cup and pour the final juice mix to see how it will taste. Re-cork the bottle with an old wine cork or just jam as much of the old cork as you can- you might have to trim it or just get a wine-saver cork to save the bubbles)
Whatever you do, stick to what you think tastes good and focus on what you like, rather than what seems fancy. you don't have to use all the juices on hand to make a great drink. (Think of how great simple cocktails are without being complicated or pretentious.)
Good luck with your mixology!|||Champagne Punch
