There have been thousands of 1 punch knockouts but which one ( or ones) left u with a sense of shock? |||This is my top ten one punch knockouts;
1: Julian Jackson KO 4 Herol Graham. (Graham was on the verge of a stoppage, then BANG, Goodnight)
2: Rocky Marciano KO13 Jersey Joe Walcott. (The Rock landed his famous 'suzy Q' to claim the title)
3: Thomas Hearns KO 2 Roberto Duran. (the hands of stone couldn't cope with the motor city cobra and ended up flat on his face)
4: Iran Barkley KO 3 Thomas Hearns I (Barkley was being beaten out of sight, then, the 'hitman' got hit)
5: Floyd Patterson KO 5 Ingemar Johansson II (after Johansson goes down, watch his left foot tremble from the effects of the shot to the chin)
6: Jack Johnson KO 12 Stanley Ketchel (After Johnson gets floored, he gets up and immediately KO's Ketchel, video footage shows Johnson removing Ketchels teeth that got embedded in his glove)
7: Lennox Lewis KO 2 Oliver McCall (this was a routine defence for Lewis, but it never went according to plan in round 2)
8: Mike Weaver KO 15 John Tate (Tate had this fight in the bag, until the last round when he was knocked cold and ended up face down)
9: George Foreman KO 10 Michael Moorer (Not so much shocking, but pleasing to see "the punching preacher" lose every round then roll back the years to knock his man cold, apparently, that punch broke Moorer's jaw AND nose)
10: Breidis Prescott KO 1 Amir Khan ( This was a wake up call, saying; it don't matter how much money you got, you can't put muscle's on chins)|||Well ACEMAN, 3 knockouts come to mind that I actually saw. The very first one that left me with a sense of shock, though not the hardest punch, was when after losing perhaps every round Mike Weaver knocked John Tate out with about 1 minute left in the fight. Tate was out cold. The most vicious and complete knockout that I ever saw was when Thomas Hearns hit Roberto Duran with a right hand. Duran was unconscious before he ever even hit the canvas and I had never seen anyone do that to Duran. And still one other brutal knockout was the one punch knockout Bob Foster delivered on Mike Quarry knocking him out completely with his feet quivering on the canvas. These left me in shock and awe. Probably from historic reasons the most famous one punch knockout was the Suzy Q right hand that Rocky Marciano clobbered Jersey Joe Walcott with.|||Tyson landing his killer power on Larry Holmes.
Hasim Rahman crushing Lennox Lewis with a single right hand.
Darnell "Ding a Ling Man" Wilson's KO from Friday Night Fights (they showed it a thousand times, and I loved it every time)
While it was really from an accumulation of shots, the finishing shot that Trinidad landed on Fernando Vargas was about as sweet as it gets.
Also, leaving out Joe Frazier would be pretty criminal of me. His left hook KO of Bob Foster still sends shivers.
Floyd Patterson's leaping gazelle punch (left hand) that sent Ingo into a near coma, complete with twitching legs. . . . . awesome!
I was always impressed with Rocky Marciano's fight-ending shot (His Old Suzie Q) against Jersey Joe Walcott was imortalized in a very famous photo. . . .Walcott's face is completely misshapen. |||Dave "Boy" Green hit with a short hook by Palamino for the world title in the late 1970s, Dave was well ahead using his ferocious strength when palamino delivered the crispest punch, a short hook, ever seen in boxing. If you watch the punch you will see clearly the art of boxing on display because the punch travelled a short distance palamino using feet, body position and timing to perfection. That punch would have knocked out a horse. Dave "Boy" Green was the toughest of boxers proving the power of Palamino s punch, Dave was out cold before he hit the canvass.|||Since everyone else has pretty much mentioned all the best ones (thumbs up to Toughguy for precongnitively stealing my answers), I'll stretch for a couple others.
Simon Brown's knockout loss to Pettway was fairly shocking the way he fell asleep, with his arm twitching back and forth.
And for a deeper pull, Sumbu Kalambay's loss to Michael Nunn was shocking as well. 1 round, 1 punch and it's over.|||In terms of their effect on the victim - Head shot- Kostya's right hand that KO Zab Judah, he was in another time-zone after that. Body shot - Hatton's left hook that put down Castillo for the first time in his career, breaking four ribs.
I'm sure there are better examples, but these are the two that first spring to mind.|||Mike Tyson ko's Frances Botha in round 5 with a hard right hand after Botha have been giving Tyson fits for the first four rounds. It is on youtube.com watch it! Also for safe measure Bob Foster ko's Dick Tiger in 4 rounds in 1968. It eas by far the sweetest and hardest left hook I have ever seen! Put Tiger to sleep! Also on on youtube.com|||My favorite will always be the left hook that Mike Weaver KO'd Big John Tate with. Tate had dominated the first 44 minutes of the fight, and Weaver landed that one haymaker and Tate flopped around on the canvas like a fish on a boat deck!
The fact that I hated Tate's guts was an extra bonus!|||A lot of Tyson fights...and yeah, I agree with the one that said about Penalosa ducking and swinging a blow to the body of his opponent. But I was impressed when Pacquiao KO'ed Diaz. It wasnt a fair fight, nor was it the greatest fight I saw but just seeing Diaz fall off to the canvass that way...damn!|||There are so many to chose from. It's almost difficult to pick an absolute favorite. Anyway, seeing Oleg Maskaev knock Hasim Rahman out the ring looked like something from the old Nintendo game, Ring King (for those old enough to remember that game).|||Tim Witherspoon vs Anders Eklund
Samuel Peters vs Jeremy Williams
Rocky Marciano vs Jersey Joe Walcott
Hasim Rahman vs Lennox Lewis|||Gerry Penalosa vs. Jhonny Gonzales for the WBO Bantamweight Title. The way Gonzales went down and the look in his eyes tell it all.|||Obama punched Paris Hilton.|||Julo Cesar Chavez's knockout of Meldrick Taylor|||Gotta go with Foreman vs Frasier. Ole George came down right on top of Joe's head. Joe's delayed action before he hit the canvas has got to be the best.|||Roy Jones one punch body shot that ended his fight with Virgil Hill. |||When Elmo hit Big Bird.|||Racheed Evans K.O. of Liddel in MMA
