My son recently went to a baseball game with my husband and drank a lot of fruit punch Crystal Light. Well, when he got home he was in our family room and started to feel sick. He vomited all the way to the bathroom. I cleaned up the spots as best as I could get them (they were bright red from the Crystal Light). I thought spots looked good until just recently it seems like they are showing up in the carpet. Any ideas what I can use to clean the carpet to get the stains out?
Thanks.|||Try white vinegar.|||Red based stains are the hardest to remove because of both the sugar and food dye. And, you have to be sure to get all of the way down to the padding or your body weight will walk it back up to the surface after you think you have cleaned the stain.
Spot shot is about the best at removing red dye/sugar stains. Sometimes borax dissolved in hot water, saturating the stain and placing a terry towel on top, hopping on it to draw it up from the padding does, too. But, it first turns it blue and then you have to repeat the process several times until it is fully removed. I have also had Resolve with OxyClean work, but you need a lot of it and it is a more expensive option.|||Wet the carper with clean water, soak a white towel with water, just ring it lightly, just 'til it doesn't drip. place the towel over the stain, put an iron set on medium to medium low heat on the towel for about 3 to 5 min. the steam will pull the stain into the towel. Repeat until the stain is completely gone.blot dry with a clean dry towel.
60% of the time, it works every time! No, seriously this works.|||okay, well we have this stuff in our cupboard at home, which literally gets out EVERYTHING. no joke.
we've used it on blood, paint, ink, sick and all other things too. it doesnt even matter how old the stain is, it just gets it out! and it's not toxic or anything..you just have to make sure you've wiped it all off after or it bleaches the carpet. oh, it works on walls, carpets, clothes, skin and pets too..
it's called White Wizard, and it's the best. i highly reccomend it.
ooh also, i was at my friends house, and this guy puked up red sick (he had a swig of tabasco for some stupid reason) and we used a mixture of bleach and washing up liquid. worked a treat :)
hope you get the red out :D
